The site also keeps the full archive of E2Gold Inc. news releases from the Hawkins and Band-Ore gold projects in Ontario.

Source: Bank of Canada, daily exchange rates published around 16:30 ET on business days. Indicative rates, not the rate a bank charges for a transfer or cash.
The first number column shows how many Canadian dollars one unit of each foreign currency costs, which is the figure you need when a bill or a price tag is in that currency. The second column turns it around and shows how much of the foreign currency one Canadian dollar buys, which is the number travellers usually care about. The Bank of Canada publishes one rate per currency each business day, so the table changes once a day while the crypto and metal prices below move every hour. A green day change means that currency became more expensive in Canadian dollars since the previous business day, which also means the loonie lost ground against it.
Banks, card networks and money transfer services add a margin to these reference rates, and that margin is often between 2 and 3 percent for card purchases abroad. Comparing the rate on a receipt with the Bank of Canada figure for the same day is the quickest way to see what a conversion really cost. For large transfers the gap matters more than the fee itself, because a small percentage of a big amount adds up fast. The converter on this page uses the same official rates, so it shows the fair value of a conversion before any provider markup.
Spot prices from gold-api.com, converted at the Bank of Canada USD rate
Gold is priced worldwide in US dollars per troy ounce, so the price a Canadian investor sees depends on two moving parts at once. When the loonie weakens against the US dollar, gold gets more expensive in Canadian dollars even if the US price stands still, and a stronger loonie works the other way. That is why the CAD price above is the one to compare with a quote from a Canadian bullion dealer or the Royal Canadian Mint. Dealers sell coins and bars at a premium over spot and buy them back below it, and the spread is usually widest on small coins.

Crypto trades around the clock, so the 24-hour change in this table covers a full day of trading rather than one session like a stock market. In Canada, crypto trading platforms have to register with the provincial securities regulators, and the Canadian Securities Administrators keep a public list of the platforms that are registered. Gains from selling crypto are taxable, and the Canada Revenue Agency treats them as either capital gains or business income depending on how often and how you trade. Stablecoins such as USDT track the US dollar, which is why their price in Canadian dollars simply follows the USD/CAD rate at the top of this page.
Policy rate as of October 19, 2026, CPI for September 2026
Target for the overnight rate
Consumer Price Index, all items
The policy rate is the overnight rate the Bank of Canada targets, and it sets the floor for the prime rate that banks charge on lines of credit and variable-rate mortgages. The Bank announces rate decisions eight times a year on fixed dates, and it moves the rate mainly to keep inflation close to its 2 percent target. Inflation here is the change in the all-items Consumer Price Index over twelve months, as published by Statistics Canada. When inflation runs above the target the Bank tends to keep rates higher, and when it falls well below the Bank has room to cut.
